The thoughts and attitudes we hold on a daily basis mold our outlook, effect your emotions and inspire our actions. It is important to do a daily inventory of what is occupying our mind and consuming our energy. Sometimes we are unaware on a conscious level, how certain people, music, or surroundings effect our emotions and memories. The things and people we surround ourselves with have subtle meanings to us on a deeper level, which our mind absorbs.
For example, if you are looking for a job and continually hear how bad the market is, you may internalize the fear and in turn create a negative impact on your search. If you are attempting to lose weight and have no support, you may feel abandoned and turn to food for familiar comfort. Some women may relate that if you are trying to conceive and continually focus on not being able to get pregnant, this affects your body’s ability as it relates to stress hormones. Contrary, if you surround yourself with images of successful peers, supportive friends and encouraging mantras, you immediately change your energy and emotional emanations.
Holding emotional space for the things we want to achieve in life is the first step to fully realizing it into our lives. All things are created twice- first in our minds, then in our reality. Getting super clear about what we are aiming for and continually holding images (either through a vision board or mental imaging) helps the subconscious to subtly work you towards achieving your dreams.
Today, and everyday, we should remind ourselves of the mantra “I Have What I Hold†to check in with the thoughts and surroundings within our daily lives and create with intention, the environment we are seeking to build.
